Breastfeeding advice from the midwife
Breastfeeding is often a wonderful experience—but sometimes also a challenge. I will accompany you through your individual breastfeeding situation, listening and supporting you with advice, practical tips, and time to answer your questions.
Topics of breastfeeding counseling can include:
Preparing for breastfeeding during pregnancy
Starting breastfeeding after birth
Help with pain while breastfeeding, sore nipples, milk congestion or mastitis
Support with too little or too much milk
Questions about bottle or formula milk
Breastfeeding and returning to work
Support during weaning
As a midwife, I have in-depth knowledge of breastfeeding and offer you personalized, everyday support. For complex breastfeeding issues or when questions remain unresolved, we will discuss whether a specialized breastfeeding and lactation consultant (IBCLC) should be consulted.
Cost coverage
The health insurance company covers three breastfeeding consultations per birth – regardless of the postpartum period. Breastfeeding consultations can take place as part of postpartum care – or later, depending on your needs.
